It was difficult to find a mattress that was supportive while still being soft and comfortable, but we finally found it with this mattress! Many of the mattresses we tried either seemed like they'd sag in the middle eventually or felt hard as a rock. This mattress had the balance we were looking for as side sleepers. As with any mattress, expect it to be a little on the firmer side until it's broken in. Ours has been steadily softening towards how it felt when we tested it in the store.

Unfortunately after 3 months our mattress started sagging in the center on both sides. Stearns recommended that we rotate the bed and "the indentations will even out over time." We then rotated our mattress every 4 months and one year later the mattress is unusable. I only weigh 125lbs and my husband is 165lbs. We have a steel base with rigid cross bracing. They would not warranty the bed due to the slats not being 3" wide.

The firstKing mattress sagged where each of us slept after 3 months (180# each). Got replacement and this also has sagged and results in uncomfortable sleeping. Feels like sleeping in a hammock.
Sterns and Foster will not help as we bought from "Mattress Firm". So I guess they dont care about their reputation or quality of this product. I am extremely unhappy with my $ 3000 purchase.

This mattress is very comfortable. We had tried a Temperpedic mattress but was unhappy with it to due excessive heat from the memory foam. Also the edges did not supply the necessary support we were used to. The Stearns and Foster mattress provides the edge support we love and adjusts comfortably on our adjustable bed base. The mattress gives great support for us as older adults. We also find this mattress to craddle us but not hold excessive amounts of heat which provides for a better night rest.

Last night was my first night sleeping on my new Stearns & Foster Mattress and I am already sleeping better. I have severe hip pain on my left side and found that moving around on this new mattress is quite a bit less painful than on my old mattress. I have a Queen 14" Mattress and it is quite heavy to lift when making up the bed.

Everyone should know that the warranty provided bu this company is worthless. I have been sleeping in a chair because the bed sags when you are in it. However, when I tried to get warranty help from this company they said if I can't show it on a picture they won't stand behind their product. Of course, if the mattress is weak inside you can't show that. They should allow you to show what it does when a body is on it. I bought this because I was told it was a firm mattress. I was in such pain from rolling into the middle I had to sleep in my chair at night. I'm not the only one who is experiencing this defect in this bed. I had hopes that if I spend so much money I would get some kind of quality -- no so with Sterns & Foster. Do not buy from them if you ever have hope of getting warranty help!

We've been needing a new mattress for a while now and after trying multiple mattresses and price points, we decided to go with the Stearns and Foster Studio Firm Tight Top. This mattress is sooooooooo comfortable, plush but not to soft. We enjoy the firm tight top due to slight back problems. The mattress is a beautiful dark blue in color and it's a little higher (with the box springs) than we're used to. I feel like a Queen laying on top of this mattress and whether I'm sleeping or sitting up relaxing, my back pain hasn't been an issue. I'm looking forward to many, many good night sleeps on my new Stearns & Foster mattress.

I am 80 years old and changed from my other mattress because I wanted one that was more cushiony and a little less firm. This mattress is excellent, actually providing firm support as well as a comfortable cushion feel. I can sleep in any position in complete comfort and good support. I got the medium pillow top Studio with a 9" box spring underneath. It has greatly relieved all my various aches and pains, and is perfect for me. It is a bit pricey but well. worth the expense at my age

I have had this bed for several years, (2017 or 2018). The store (Art Van, I believe) said it was compatible with an adjustable base. It wasn't. Within the first year of using on the adjustable base the center section of the bed, where it folds up when head tilted, really lost its firmness. When I called they basically blew me off. So, I ended up putting towels in the center to add firmness. Then purchased a firm topper and that helped but really never used my adjustable base anymore. Personally, after this experience I would never purchase a bed with coils/springs with an adjustable base again.
If not for the adjustable base, I absolutely loved this bed and would purchase again if I had a flat, non-adjustable base.

We purchased the Stearns & Foster mattress and box spring on June 1st 2022.
I absolutely hate it.
So much money and it was a terrible investment.
My back hurts so bad every single morning. And I've never had an issue with my back before this purchase.
Our first year we rotated our king size mattress a quarter turn as recommended by the salesman.
Talk about the heaviest thing you'll ever lift when it comes to a mattress.
Rotated again this morning hopefully I'll have some relief for a couple nights.
I thought purchasing a more expensive mattress would be a good idea, maybe won't have to purchase again for a very long time HAHA I'm about ready to dump this heavy uncomfortable mattress, so very disappointed.

I'm a faithful customer of Stearn and Foster. When it comes to having a restful night, nothing compares to sleeping on a S&F mattress. I had mine for over 15 years and it's still great. This is my second mattress purchase, now for my Daughter…so she can continue with the S&F tradition….this obviously is not for granted, but S&F has to continue with quality raw material and manufacturing. I tried the mattress at the store and it's definitely very different from the one I received. The display seemed of better quality and comfort, the one I received it's not 14" as described and it's much firmer than the display at the store.

I tried this mattress at the store and I really liked it, I was told it was 14", once it was delivered I measured it and it is not 14" it is 13" unless mattresses are measured with a different tool. The comfort from the one at the store felt different more of a medium, mine feels a bit firmer. So I'm a bit on a disappointed side. I don't want to go through the hassle of an exchange. I love the pattern and the colors.

I have had this bed for about a month. When I bought this bed I was upgrading to a King size from a Queen size, which was nice like I expected, a lot more room for sharing your bed with someone. It is comfortable and I don't have any complaints.

DO NOT SHOP AT BEST MATTRESS. This place will take your money!! I went with a mattress here and in total spent almost 5K. I was told that if I didn't like my mattress, I could exchange it within 30 days. The mattress arrived and immediately I noticed it felt COMPLETELY different and stiffer from the one I tried. I bought the matching protector with it, but after a couple weeks I was too uncomfortable and decided to exchange it with a similar mattress. The deliverers came to pick it up but they would not take it due to it being "stained." This was supposedly a new mattress paired with a quality mattress protector that I have only had for a couple weeks!! They came to the apartment without a new mattress, had dirty shoes without foot covers on, and dirty gloves. They came in without a purpose to deliver a new mattress. They refused to do the exchange that they promised me due to the stain that I have never seen. I am stuck with this mattress that was 1- sold to me already used or 2- stepped on by the delivery drivers. I have been treated HORRIBLY by customer service when I paid good money for this mattress. This company is only out to get your money and will not help you.

When two people sleep on this mattress it's even worse, they roll from the side edges into the mattress middle. I filed a claim with Stearns and Foster and they rejected my claim because the sag needed to be an inch and one-half (mine was only one and one-quarter). The actual sag may be two to three inches deep in the middle when I sleep on this defective mattress. So according to Stearns and Foster, an inch and a quarter sag in the middle of the bed with no one laying on the mattress is perfectly normal and a sag that is an inch and one-half is defective. The 10 year Stearns and Foster warranty readily given to mattress consumers is not worth the paper it's written on. I was not able to test this mattress so I relied on the manufacturer rating to make my purchase decision. So, on a scale of 1 to 10 (with a 10 being the most firm), this mattress was rated (by the manufacturer) at a medium comfort level between 4 and 5; however, it feels more like a very firm 8 or 9. Unfortunately, I don't think this unexpected extra firmness will work well for a side sleeper like myself. My advice would be to make sure you can test this mattress yourself and do not rely on the manufacturer's rating to make your purchase decision. My only hope is that, ove time, it will soften enough so I will be able to "comfortably" sleep on my side.

I could write a book here but this bed is AMAZING. I have had my joint pain disappear, this is the best sleep I have ever gotten. This mattress is heavy, feels the perfect mix of firm but cushy. I generally like a more firm bed and my partner and I wanted something with a higher weight limit. I sleep amazing in this bed and we have very little motion transfer between us. I can't recommend this product enough. The delivery was easy and I also bought new bed bases so I am loving my refreshed bedroom !!

I have a Stearns and Foster Hurston and Rockwell mattress that have both been approved for warranty because of sag issues in just 4 years of use. For reference, we weight 130lbs and 160lbs. However, the real problem lies in the customer service for the warranty issue. S&F indicated the replacement for the Hurston is the Studio line mattress that only comes in a medium, which does not match the firm Hurston I have now. I requested four times for a representative to talk through the the layers and materials used in the current Studio line and the current Estate firm line, and compare that to the Hurston. I even included a schematic of each mattress for the employees to reference. They refused every time and indicated that their computer system indicates a Studio is the comparable mattress and that no further discussion is an option. Even on the phone the representative indicated I could not speak with a manager, and that he would not discuss the differences with me. I find this ironic, being that the company should know their mattresses best and should clearly be able to discuss each mattress in depth with a customer who asks about each line. All day long salesmen and saleswomen in showrooms across the country will discuss the differences of each mattress, but Stearns and Foster representatives refuse. There is a clear difference between the Hurston and the Studio, being that the spring system is NOT comparable, nor are other materials. The Hurston uses the Intellicoil that is found in the current Estate line, the Studio uses a standard, lower end spring. Sealy indicated they'd be happy to "upgrade" for a charge. The question is, if I upgrade, will they be willing to tell me about the materials and layers in the "upgraded" mattresses they sell, or will they refuse? Moreover, it's shocking to charge a customer for a mattress "upgrade" that contains similar internals for the mattress I have currently, and for the same firmness level. So, please take this review as a warning. For a higher end mattress company to treat their customers as they did, is shameful at best. The BBB has been notified of the issue as well. Moreover, if you're looking for a mattress that lasts over 4 years before it sags greater than 1.5", I suggest looking at other companies. Stearns and Foster, you have lost a customer for life, this includes Sealy and Tempurpedic brands as well. Shame on you for treating customers with such disrespect.

I researched mattresses for a long time and was previously in the business thus I felt somewhat knowledgeable…. In less then a month I realized this mattress was terrible and it wasn't just me getting use to it.
I called the store where I purchased it and there was no return…even though they sold me a complete cover that was required if I needed to return it….I then called the company and they said whatever policy the store has is their policy. The end
Absolutely ridiculous that they had zero interest in the customers satisfaction. I can't help but think this is a manufacturing problem as I thought this brand was higher end. I couldn't have been more wrong. And of course after all of this I have found plenty of reviews saying their experience with quality is the same as mine.
I'm sure S and F makes some good mattresses but this is not one of them and shame on them for not offering an exchange resolution .

This is the worst bed ive EVER had.!!! The sagging starting about 4 months after we got it. My mom and i both got the same bed, at the same time And only has got worse over time. We have had it for about 4 years now and the body aches are real, cant even turn because its sagging so much feels like im in a cocoon. Unfortunately we can't afford another mattress, and the "guarantee is a joke"
They have come out to look at my moms 2x and said. Well its not bad enough to be replaced. Its 1/4 inch off in order to be replaced.. really. So FYI dont buy this bed !
